The shot was taken around 1730 on April 8th. The snow is still around and the lake is frozen. The shot was taken using the Canon 17-40mm in combination with 3 Lee ND Grad filters. The shot was made easy as the sun was covered with clouds and was just about to peep out. Can’t wait to get Lee Big Stopper but they are always out of stock. — at Rauhaniemi beach, public saunas and ice-swimming.

Did some contrast and structure adjustments.

Tampere at the cusp of Spring

The beautiful city of Tampere at the cusp of Spring. Walked to the center and decided to go the bridge by the river to shoot the cityscape. It was a cold evening in spite of end of April first week. It was a beautiful evening with the sun going down. The city will be at the top of it’s charm in summer. The city was traditionally an industrial city which now is one of the best places to live in Finland.

This shot was taken using the 3 ND grad Lee filters. It was imported using Lightroom 4 and edited in photoshop cs6 beta for contrast correction and shadow adjustments. Following are the before and after shot.
